The OrganoGel
remove wax-resin layers quickly and safely!

A groundbreaking technology is a transformative approach to art conservation, especially for works treated with The Dutch Method, where in the past, original paintings were strengthened by gluing at their back a second layer of canvas using a wax-resin mass.

Discover the Future of Art Restoration with OrganoGel

A Revolution
in the world
of conservators

Just imagine: you can put the OrganoGel at the back of the painting. And after half an hour, the wax-resin mass is absorbed by OrganoGel. When there is a lot of mass on the original canvas, you can repeat the procedure until the material weaves are completely cleaned.

  • No mechanical work required
  • OrganoGel absorbs wax-resin mass from between the material threads
  • Restored material regains its original physical properties

It’s so simple!

1

Image

The painting, previously lined with the Dutch Method, is prepared for treatment, exposing the wax-resin lining on the reverse side.

Prepare the canvas

2

Image

Place the patch of flexible OrganoGel on the back of the original painting.

Application

3

Image

The OrganoGel absorbs the wax-resin, depending on thickness of the mass, from 15 up to 60 minutes. Just let the unique combination of solvents do the work for you.

Absorption

4

Regeneration

Remove the patch and bathe it in our solvent mixture. This is a regeneration process, after which you can use the same OrganoGel patch again (and again, and again).

Opinions about OrganoGel:

"This is simply an incomparable leap in terms of freeing the original canvas fibers from the material that conservators have always struggled with."

"The use of OrganoGel as an alternative agent for removing impregnating masses in wax-resin lining. Now it seems to be the only solution that allows for the effective removal of such masses from canvas."

"What is most important and groundbreaking is that OrganoGel is able to extract the wax-resin mass from between the canvas weaves and thus allow for the performance of subsequent conservation activities that are key to the paintings."

"OrganoGel is the only available agent that allows for such a thorough removal of dissolved wax-resin mass from the canvas."

"OrganoGel promises the future in terms of ease of use and comfort of work for painting conservators."

"The process of removing the wax-resin mass is significantly shortened. OrganoGel removes it from the entire structure of the painting, from the canvas, through the subsequent layers of the gesso, to the varnish."
